Affordable Connectivity Program helps students, families and communities access the internet
8/15/2022
Access to reliable, high-speed internet is critical to learning. The Affordable Connectivity Program is a new federal program that helps low-income households offset the monthly cost of new or existing internet service.
Eligible households can receive:
- Up to a $30 per month discount on broadband service;
- A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer or tablet purchased through a participating provider.
Households are eligible to enroll if their income is below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line or if someone in their household currently receives a government benefit, such as Medicaid or free and reduced-price school lunch.
Schools and districts are well positioned to share information on the Affordable Connectivity Program and help families navigate the sign-up process. Accessible outreach materials can be found at tech.ed.gov/ACP.
