Science and Social Studies Student Readiness Toolkits available
To help teachers prepare for the 2021-2022 school year, the Department posted Student Readiness Toolkits for science and social studies. These toolkits, in addition to the recently updated English language arts and mathematics toolkits, include a variety of carefully selected resources to support educators as they return to the classroom. Educators can use the materials to identify and address instructional gaps that may have occurred during remote learning so they can continue to support each student’s educational journey when school reconvenes.
In addition to resources tailored to specific content areas, the toolkits include assessment literacy tools to help teachers understand and use varied assessments to inform instruction and evaluate and ensure student learning. Teachers can use these fundamental tools to develop classroom assessments. Among other things, the assessment literacy tools include the following:
