Seeking nominations for 2022 RISE Award to honor classified school employees

The Ohio Department of Education will accept nominations for the Recognizing Inspirational School Employees (RISE) Award Sept. 1-30. Congress created the award to honor classified school employees who provide exemplary service to their schools, students, colleagues and communities.

American Rescue Plan Homeless Targeted Support Grant opens Aug. 29

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Homeless Targeted Support Grant is an opportunity to increase supports for students experiencing homelessness. The grant application is open Aug. 29-Oct. 17. Potential grantees can learn more at a Sept. 7 bidders conference.

Nominate a grade 7-12 STEM teacher for national recognition

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors the United States government bestows on science, technology, engineering and mathematics teachers. Nominate someone by Jan. 9, 2023, or apply for the award by Feb. 6, 2023.

Resources to accelerate learning available through Ohio Learns 360

Ohio Learns 360 will provide summer and after-school programs with Public Broadcasting Service resources designed to accelerate student learning and support the state’s most vulnerable learners. The program includes free support for educators, after-school programs, virtual field trips, family webinars, local events and more.
