Ohio Evaluation System opens for setup Aug. 11

8/8/2022

Superintendents or their designees can set up their districts in the Educator Evaluation System (OhioES) beginning Aug. 11. Superintendents and superintendent designees who are new to their districts must ensure their role designations and email addresses are current in the Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS). These individuals will receive an email message with login information.

Ohio will fully implement OPES 2.0 for all districts in the 2022-2023 school year. As such, all principal and assistant principal evaluators must have a valid OPES 2.0 credential to be able to conduct OPES 2.0 evaluations.

For information about OPES 2.0 trainings and credentialing, please see the Credentialed Evaluators webpage.

Administrators who used the system last year and still are in the same district can log in to OhioES using their current login IDs and passwords. The Department asks superintendents or their designees to complete their setups by Friday, Oct. 14.

All evaluation systems, OTES 2.0, OPES 2.0 and OSCES, must be used in the 2022-2023 school year. This includes the use of high-quality student data for teacher and principal evaluations and student metrics for school counselor evaluations. Please see the Educator Evaluation Systems webpage for more information.
