Tax Credit Certificate Program for work-based learning experiences application

12/10/2024

Tax credit available to businesses employing eligible students

The Tax Credit Certificate Program for work-based learning experiences provides a tax credit to eligible businesses that employ eligible career-technical education students.

Businesses can use this nonrefundable credit against their aggregate tax liability. To take advantage of the credit, participating businesses must obtain a tax credit certificate from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Eligible businesses may include employers that are taxpayers or pass-through entities, such as limited liability companies. The business also must employ eligible career-technical students.

For more information about eligibility, visit the Department's website.

The tax credit application will be open Jan.1-Feb.1. Guidance for the application process can be found in the Tax Credit Certificate for Work-Based Learning Experiences Application Manual.
