12/12/2022

During the 2021-2022 school year, six teams participated in Ohio’s Heading to Kindergarten initiative. Together, the following teams partnered to support successful transitions to kindergarten:

  • Chardon Local Schools and Lake Geauga United Head Start
  • Columbus City Schools and the Child Development Council of Franklin County
  • Georgetown Exempted Village Schools and the Adams Brown Community Action Partnership
  • Marion City Schools and Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission
  • Paint Valley Local School District and Ross County Community Action Committee
  • Portsmouth City School District and Community Action Organization of Scioto County
With assistance from the early childhood consultant from state support team in their regions, teams focused on building relationships, information sharing and alignment.
Heading to Kindergarten helps schools, families and communities work together to meet the needs of the whole child. Educators can visit the Heading to Kindergarten webpage to explore the research-based tools and best practices that make Heading to Kindergarten a success.
