High School Tech Internship application open

Designated intermediates accepting student applications
Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, who serves as director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, announced the next round of the High School Tech Internship program is open for Ohio students to enroll. The goal of the program is to equip Ohio businesses with the tech talent they need while providing students with valuable work experience at an early age.
To enroll in the program, individual students or school districts must contact the intermediaries in their regions to be connected with businesses that are hosting interns.
Interns will perform job duties similar to what is expected of an entry-level employee in technology roles that focus on artificial intelligence, software development, data, cybersecurity, broadband/5G, and other tech-focused roles.
Ohio employers hosting interns can be reimbursed up to 75% of the wages paid to interns (up to $5,000 per intern) to encourage businesses to hire high school students for these positions.
Last year's High School Tech Internship program had nearly 1,000 Ohio students participate in internships with employers across the state.
