February is National School-based Health Care Awareness Month

1/30/2023

February is National School-based Health Care Awareness Month. This is a time to recognize the impact that school-based health centers have on access to health care in Ohio and across the nation.

School-based health centers provide a range of services to students, families and communities. These centers can improve access to care, lower absenteeism rates and improve the overall health of students. Healthy children are more likely to attend school ready to learn and achieve at higher academic levels, providing them greater access to future opportunities. The increased demand for school-based health services, particularly mental health services, has made school-based health centers more important than ever.
