Get ready for National Child and Adult Care Food Program Week
National Child and Adult Care Food Program Week is March 13-19. The Department encourages child care centers, family day care homes, after-school programs and adult day centers that participate in the food program to join the celebration. Program sites that plan at least one nutrition activity in honor of the week and share it with the Department may be showcased by the Department during the national celebration.
Email information about planned program site activities to Carmen Stewart by Feb. 25. In the email message, provide details about the activity, facility name, IRN, name of a contact person, telephone number and optional photos. The Department will randomly select a sample of facilities from these entries to feature during National Child and Adult Care Food Program Week. Please ensure proper photo permissions are secured locally as the Department may publicly share any images.
Find ideas for celebrating on the National Child and Adult Care Food Program Sponsors Association Facebook page or its website.
The National Child and Adult Care Food Program Sponsors Association uses the third week of each March to raise awareness about how the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Child and Adult Care Food Program works to combat hunger. The program brings healthy foods to tables across the country for children and adults in eligible settings.
