CPR and AED training in Ohio high schools
6/28/2024
Ohio law requires each public school that offers grades 9-12 to provide instruction in CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED) to all students. The American Heart Association is currently offering a free program to public high schools to assist in meeting this graduation requirement.
The program includes physical resources, the CPR in Schools Training Kit, age-appropriate curriculum, and staff training. The training has in-person or virtual training options.
To apply, complete the American Heart Association’s Microsoft Form. Resources are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Contact Yolana Wakefield-Wilson at yolana.wilson@heart.org or 317-513-7966 for questions. The Department offers information about curriculum requirements on the CPR and AED Curriculum webpage.
