Video helps parents protect children from identity theft
In honor of National Consumer Protection Week, the Ohio Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Section created a video to guide parents through the process of placing a security freeze on their children’s credit reports. Security freezes are free and may protect children from identity theft. With more students learning in a virtual environment, student information has become more widely available, leaving children vulnerable to identity theft. It is vital that parents take action to protect their children from this threat. Placing a security freeze on their children’s credit reports is an important step parents can take to keep kids safe.
