Free annual attendance conference now open for registration
Register now for Attend – Ohio, the second attendance convening event hosted by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network. This free, one-day conference will take place in Columbus on May 16 and is themed “Engaging School Communities – Inspiring Attendance.” The event will focus on three aspects of engagement: student, classroom, and family/community.
The event’s keynote speaker will be Rebecca Winthrop, director of the Center for Education at Brookings and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University. Winthrop is the co-author of the recently-released The Disengaged Teen: Helping Kids Learn Better, Feel Better, and Live Better.
Schools and districts are encouraged to send teams that include administrators, attendance leads, and teachers. Staff from state support teams and educational service centers are also welcome to attend.
Register here to attend. Please note that space is limited for this event.
Questions can be directed to Ohio’s Attendance Advisor, Patrick Hickman, at Patrick.Hickman@education.ohio.gov.
