Peer tutor guide for districts and schools now available

Some schools have expressed interest in developing peer tutoring programs to help accelerate student learning. The Department offers guidance for districts about awarding students participating in local peer tutoring programs with diploma seals that meet graduation requirements.

Apply to serve on Ohio’s Gifted Advisory Council

The Department is accepting applications from parents, general and gifted educators, administrators and others to serve on the Gifted Advisory Council. Applications are due May 24.

Ohio school secretary named a finalist for national RISE Award

This week, the U.S. Department of Education announced the national RISE awardee and released the names of the finalists for the award. Among the four finalists was Ohio’s Beverly Payne, an elementary school secretary from Crestline Exempted Village School District.
