Reminder to submit annual blended learning declarations, online learning notification forms, or adopt online day plans

Blended learning declarations are due July 1 of each year. Declarations remain active until the school or district submits a blended learning declaration ceasing the model.

To confirm whether there is a blended learning declaration on file with the Department, please contact onlinelearning@education.ohio.gov. Read more about blended learning on the Department’s website.

Submitting Online Learning Notification Form

Online learning notification forms are due July 1. Districts only need to submit an online learning notification form if they plan to open or close an online learning school. Any traditional school district that has students participating in online learning more than 50% of time is required to open an online school and enroll students under the online school IRN.

Adopt Online Day Plans

Districts and schools must adopt online day plans by Aug. 1 of each year. Online day plans replaced blizzard bags. Only schools and districts that do not have a blended learning declaration on file nor operate an online learning school shall adopt an online day plan. Online day plans do not need to be submitted to the Department.
