Statewide expansion of Mobile Response and Stabilization Services

5/13/2025

Rapid support available for young people in crisis

The Ohio Departments of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Medicaid collaborated for statewide expansion of the Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS). Twelve different organizations have been selected to provide MRSS services across the state. These organizations will cover 18 regions, enabling response teams to get to any location in the state in less than 60 minutes after receiving a call from Ohio’s 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline.

MRSS provides immediate, no-cost support to young people experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral distress. After receiving a call, a team of trained professionals responds within 60 minutes to the young person’s home, school, or any other location. MRSS will be available in all 88 counties in the coming months.
