Stephen Dackin selected as Ohio’s next superintendent of public instruction

At its May meeting, the State Board of Education of Ohio selected Stephen Dackin as the 39th superintendent of public instruction for Ohio and leader of the Ohio Department of Education.

Now available: Ohio's Dyslexia Guidebook

Ohio’s Dyslexia Guidebook is available now. As required by Ohio law, Ohio’s Dyslexia Guidebook contains best practices and methods for universal screening, intervention and remediation for children with dyslexia or children displaying dyslexic characteristics and tendencies.

Assessment conference planned for September

Save the date for the Second Annual Assessment Conference. The Department will host this virtual conference over two half-days Sept. 14 and 15. On Sept. 13, there will be a pre-conference session for new district test coordinators.

Deadline extended: Apply to the Ohio Teacher Leader Liaison Network

The Department is extending the application period for the 2022-2024 Ohio Teacher Leader Liaison Network through June 17. Selected educators will join the innovative and prestigious network of teachers from across the state and engage with the Department on topics related to current and future education initiatives.
