New public comment opportunity for changes to EMIS guidelines

Changes posted for 30 days for review
Ohio law allows EMIS users to review and provide public comment on new or updated EMIS guidelines. The Department recently posted a public comment opportunity for the following EMIS guidelines:
- 26-9 Updates EMIS Manual Section 4.7 Subject Codes
- 26-28 Updates high quality instructional materials reporting options
- 26-32 Updates to career-technical assessment area codes
- 26-40 Fine Arts subject code changes
- 26-41 Annual updates to industry credentials
- 26-67 Creates new detailed attendance record
- 26-76 Updates to approved reading diagnostics and tier one dyslexia lists
- 26-79 Updates financial data formats for comma separated value (CSV) collection
- 26-80 Updates Section 1.2 to allow for comma separated value (CSV) files
- 26-82 Removes CTE college credit element
- 26-84 Updates language in Section 3.3
- 26-86 Updates EMIS Manual Section 1.1.1
Complete details about the changes, including the deadlines to submit public comments, are available on the Fiscal Year 2026 EMIS Changes webpage. EMIS guidelines that are subject to change are posted on the Department’s website for 30 days for public comment and for an additional 30 days with the Department's response to comments.
