Four drivers to represent Ohio at the International School Bus Safety Competition

Ohio public school and contractor bus drivers proceed to Internationals
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is proud to share that four outstanding drivers will represent Ohio at the NSTA 2025 International School Bus Safety Competition this June in Austin, Texas.
The NSTA International School Bus Safety Competition will take place June 28-29, sponsored by First Student and School Transportation News (STN). The Ohio School Bus Driver Safety Road-E-O Committee helps support this competition, and several committee members assist with judging at the event.
As a lead-up to Internationals, the Ohio State School Bus Road-E-O was held at Westland High School, hosted by South-Western City Schools. All participants showcased skill, professionalism, and the best of Ohio school transportation.
Advancing to Internationals
- Public school district drivers:
- Ryan Dunn – Struthers City Schools, Transit Bus
- 1st Place out of 42 drivers
- David Pitrone – Solon City Schools, Conventional Bus
- 3rd Place out of 42 drivers
- Contractor drivers:
- Jered Winnestaffer – Community Bus Services of Groveport-Madison Schools, Conventional Bus
- 8th Place out of 42 drivers
- Sara Baker – Petermann/Durham Bus Services of Lakota Schools, Transit Bus
- 17th Place out of 42 drivers
