Special field trips available as prizes for new ODNR contest

Teachers have the opportunity to encourage students in grades 3-12 to enter a new contest from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. In support of the America 250 – Ohio celebration approaching in 2026, ODNR is inviting Ohio students to respond to the following prompt through an artistic creation or a written response: “How have Ohio’s natural resources played a role in your life?”

The deadline to enter is July 4. The contest will have six winners, and each winner can claim one of ODNR’s personal field trip prizes. Field trip options include wildland firefighter experiences, a guided night hike, canoe adventures, fish hatchery visits, and more.
