Free STEM professional development and resources from NASA

5/22/2023

NASA is committed to landing astronauts, including the first woman and the first person of color, on the moon and wants students to be part of the Artemis Generation. NASA invites Ohio educators and their classes to join NASA’s Next Gen STEM SPARX (Sparking Participation and Real-world eXperiences in STEM).

Next Gen STEM SPARX emphasizes engineering to connect students to STEM in a way only NASA can. SPARX is a free unique educator professional development opportunity. SPARX provides educators with hands-on, standards-based activities and related training resources to bring the engineering design process to their students.

Activities are standards-aligned and designed to help increase STEM literacy. Educators receive professional development and can connect live to NASA subject matter experts throughout the experience so students can learn more about STEM careers.

Recruitment for SPARX is open now. To learn more about this exciting opportunity, educators can join the SPARX Interest Group in NASA CONNECTS and attend an upcoming SPARX 101 information session at this link on any of these dates:

  • May 18, 4 p.m.;
  • June 6, 7 p.m.;
  • July 13, 4 p.m.;
  • Aug.17, 7 p.m.; or
  • Sept. 14, 4 p.m.
