Diabetes and stock emergency medication reporting due

5/6/2025

Reporting required in EMIS or the Nonpublic Data System for 2024-2025 school year

Ohio law requires schools to report medical information annually, including the number of students with diabetes enrolled, number of diabetic medication errors, and the procurement and administration of stock emergency medications.

The board of education or governing authority of each city, local, or exempted village, joint vocational school district, STEM, and community school must report medical information for the 2024-2025 school year in the Education Management Information System (EMIS) by July 16. Contact your district’s EMIS coordinator for reporting instructions.

Chartered nonpublic schools must report medical information for the 2024-2025 school year in the Nonpublic Data System (NPDS) in the OHID Portal by Aug. 31. Schools can find instructions for medical reporting in the Nonpublic Data System (NPDS) on the Department's webpage.

For more information, refer to the Department’s Supporting Students with Diabetes, Supporting Students with Asthma, and Supporting Students with Food Allergies webpages or contact Christina May at WholeChild@education.ohio.gov.
