Deadline extended for required 2020-2021 Prevention Services Data Reporting

5/9/2022

Ohio law requires public schools, community schools, joint vocational schools, state-supported organizations and educational service centers to complete Prevention Services Data Reporting. Data collected includes types of prevention-focused programs, services and supports used to assist students. These supports develop student knowledge and skills to engage in healthy behaviors and decision-making and increase their awareness of the dangers and consequences of risky behaviors.

Nonpublic schools do not have to complete the data reporting. However, they may choose to do so. The data reporting process may be a tool to inform policy or funding decisions, find assets and gaps in prevention services and supports or increase alignment of prevention programs with students’ whole child needs.

Superintendents received emails from Ohio K12 Help on or around March 21. The message included a secure link to access the reporting site. Superintendents can forward that email to principals or other staff that have knowledge of the prevention-focused services to complete the reporting requirement.

The Department is extending the reporting deadline. Prevention Services Data Reports are now due Friday, May 13.
