Public comment: Ohio’s Model Curriculum for World Languages and Cultures

The Ohio Department of Education is in the process of revising Ohio’s Model Curriculum for World Languages and Cultures based on public feedback and the revised 2020 learning standards. The Department invites Ohio educators, world language professionals, families, community members and other stakeholders to provide feedback. The revisions are in the Content Elaborations and Expectations for Learning sections of the World Languages and Cultures Model Curriculum. The public comment survey is open until Nov. 30 at 11:59 p.m.

Advisory group members who have an educational background or professional experience in world language education made the updates to the model curriculum. The advisory group met several times to discuss public comments and suggested revisions. The advisory group then provided direction and guidance to working groups of Ohio educators, who wrote the revisions.
