High school students explore conservation careers at Ohio Department of Natural Resources through job shadow program

High school juniors and seniors have the opportunity to explore different career opportunities in wildlife, parks, conservation and so much more through the .
Many students are unaware of the wide variety of career paths available at ODNR. The job shadow program pairs high school juniors and seniors with ODNR staff, allowing students to learn about a typical day by spending a day on the job.
Students will be able to choose the division they would like to learn about, including law enforcement, engineering, forestry and more. Learn about ODNR’s divisions here.
The first job shadow day will be held Nov. 17. Students can apply from Oct. 6-31 on the ODNR Job Shadow webpage.
ODNR plans to host two job shadow days per year. Dates for the 2024 job shadow days are not yet announced. Visit the ODNR website at
