Public Broadcasting Service News covers OhioRISE, specialized Medicaid program for children with complex behavioral health needs

In July 2022, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine introduced OhioRISE, a specialized behavioral health program managed by Medicaid for people ages 20 or younger who have complex emotional, developmental and psychological needs. To gain a better sense of the work underway that is shared across Ohio’s child-serving agencies, watch a PBS News Hour story featuring the OhioRISE program.

Self-paced human capital essentials video series available for school administrators

The Department recently released the “Human Capital Essentials video series.” This free, self-paced series consists of five courses to equip principals and district hiring managers with foundational knowledge and practical strategies to enhance human capital practices and provide resources, reflection and action planning to propel meaningful change.

Recording and resources available from Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center Annual Summit

The Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center recently hosted its Annual Summit highlighting the essential role families play in partnering with schools and districts. A presentation by Dr. Meredith Wellman (OSU), Kristy Tucker (Ashland City Schools) and Erica Kaufmann (ESC of Lorain County) featured timely district and regional examples of how schools are communicating with families about reading development, dyslexia, structured literacy and screenings. The recording and handouts are available now.
