Federal program helps eligible families pay for internet service

The Federal Communication Commission's Emergency Broadband Benefit is a temporary federal program to help families pay for internet service during the pandemic. Households with children who qualified for free or reduced-price meals in recent years may be eligible for the program.

Fall testing updates available on Resources for Return

New information about fall testing is available on the Department’s Resources for Return webpage. The Department anticipates most schools will be able to follow pre-pandemic administration procedures. However, safety remains the top priority.

English language arts writing pilot benefits educators, students and the Department

The Department, along with Cambium Assessment, Inc., invites schools and districts to participate in a voluntary English language arts writing pilot. From Nov. 1-19, this unique opportunity allows schools to help develop the highest-quality test items while preparing students and educators for future test administrations.

Registration is open for the Mathematics High School Pathways Virtual Symposium Nov. 9-10. Parents and educators of middle and high school students, as well as higher education faculty, are invited to learn about Ohio’s new initiative to improve mathematics pathways.
