Registration open: Mathematics High School Pathways Virtual Symposium
Registration is open for the Mathematics High School Pathways Virtual Symposium Nov. 9 and 10 from 4-7:30 p.m. The symposium will be the inaugural event for the Strengthening Ohio High School Mathematics Pathways Initiative.
The symposium will feature keynote speakers, breakout sessions, an overview of the initiative and sessions providing descriptions of each of the available courses in the mathematics pathways. The intended audience for the symposium is:
- Parents, guardians and caregivers of middle school and high school students;
- High school and middle school mathematics teachers, counselors and administrators; and
- Higher education admissions advisers and math faculty.
The Strengthening Ohio High School Mathematics Pathways Initiative addresses new guidance for Algebra 2-equivalent courses and how the new pathways lead to postsecondary success. The new pathways will focus on equity, rigor, relevance, coherence and flexibility.
