Guidance for solar eclipse day

Districts and schools should consider several factors when finalizing plans for the eclipse April 8, 2024. To help districts and schools prepare, the Department has developed a list of planning questions for consideration and information about the eclipse, including lesson ideas and handouts.

On-demand course on elementary vocabulary instruction available

The K-5 Vocabulary course provides an overview of the significance of vocabulary for elementary school students, along with useful strategies to enhance vocabulary instruction. The course is led by Nancy Hennessy, a national expert in literacy instruction, and takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.
