Recruiting and supporting substitute teachers

Substitute teachers play a vital role in Ohio schools, and the Department is dedicated to supporting schools and districts in their efforts to recruit these educators. The Department has published a blog post on the Human Capital Resource Center that includes strategies for schools and districts to recruit substitute teachers. The post accompanies the newly created Supporting Substitute Teachers webpage, which highlights resources and supports for both new and experienced substitute teachers. The webpage also shares best practices to support and develop substitute teachers.
