Important updates on school-related pupil transportation services

On Oct. 1., the Ohio Department of Education's Office of Field Services and Transportation launched a new compliance monitoring system for all school-related pupil transportation programs in the state as outlined in Ohio law.

This new system will help transportation officials identify gaps in compliance and allow districts to share best practices. This statewide pilot program is scheduled for full implementation by April 1, 2022. Districts also should take note of new and amended provisions that pertain to pupil transportation in the most recent state budget bill. These provisions became effective Sept. 30.
