Informing parents of the policies for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and restraint and seclusion

The revised rule for the Standards for the Implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports and the Use of Restraint and Seclusion requires districts to annually notify parents of their policies and procedures related to the requirements of PBIS and restraint and seclusion.

Districts may choose to accompany this information with the new parent information handout, which can be found on the Department’s restraint and seclusion webpage. The handout is provided in four additional languages: Spanish, Chinese, Somali and Arabic.
