Show spirit for school attendance

Without a doubt, the COVID-19 pandemic presents unprecedented barriers to in-person learning for many students and schools. This is just one of the reasons why the Stay in the Game! Network is offering resources and supports to raise awareness about the importance of school attendance and engagement.

In fact, throughout the month of September, the network is celebrating Attendance Awareness Month with weekly themes and activities. This week is Spirit Week! Schools and districts can show attendance matters by encouraging students, staff and community members to wear their school colors. Be sure to capture pictures of local businesses and community leaders who support attendance by wearing school colors and displaying the Stay in the Game! supporter posters. Use #StayInTheGameOhio when posting photos on social media for a chance to win Stay in the Game! swag and recognition by the Cleveland Browns, Columbus Crew or Ohio Department of Education!

The Stay in the Game! Network is excited to celebrate attendance with Ohio’s schools, districts, communities and families. Check out the Attendance Awareness Month flyer for each week’s activity and be on the lookout for more information during the month of September.
