Heading to Kindergarten offers resources for best practices in kindergarten transition

The Department is forming a new Heading to Kindergarten cohort for the 2021-2022 school year. Heading to Kindergarten provides a structure, process, resources and technical assistance to support best practices that enhance collaboration between early care and education programs, public schools and community partners as a critical pathway to better child outcomes. During the 2020-2021 school year, four teams of public school and Head Start professionals participated in the Heading to Kindergarten pilot project.

Fiscal Year 2021 alternate assessment and other accountability assessment data appeals open

From Monday, Sept. 20, through Friday, Sept. 24, superintendents may appeal the Fiscal Year 2021 alternate assessment data and other accountability assessment data that impact accountability. These data include non-statewide assessment data such as Industry Credentials, International Baccalaureate, Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Testing (ACT), Advanced Placement (AP) and ACT WorkKeys. These data may affect measures on the 2021 Ohio School Report Cards, as well as state funding received by the district. This will be the only opportunity to appeal this data.
