Register for Human Capital Essentials training

Districts are well equipped to serve and support students when they hire, grow and retain quality staff. The Department is committed to developing human capital expertise and is partnering with Battelle for Kids to provide leaders free professional learning and resources.

Human Capital Essentials is a free training open to all district and building leaders who have a role in hiring. This training addresses standards in all four domains of Ohio’s Principal Standards. Participants will receive an e-badge and contact hours. Learn what recent attendees are saying and read their commitments to action.

In this training, participants will build capacity in the following areas:

  • Human Capital System and Organizational Alignment;
  • Recruitment, Branding and Communication;
  • Hiring Practices;
  • Employee Engagement;
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
In-person, one-day trainings include:
  • Monday, Sept. 19, at Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (Wilmington)
  • Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Northeast Ohio Educational Service Center (Independence)
  • Thursday, Oct. 27, at Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center (Lowellville)
  • Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Battelle for Kids’ Office (Hilliard)
  • Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Battelle for Kids’ Office (Hilliard)
  • Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Montgomery County Educational Service Center (Dayton)
  • Thursday, March 2 at North Central Ohio Educational Service Center (Tiffin)
