School-based mental health professionals needed

9/26/2022

The U.S. Department of Education funds the Ohio Department of Education’s School-Based Mental Health Services Grant and aims to increase the number of school-based mental health professionals in seven counties. The counties are in Ohio’s Appalachian region and include Belmont, Guernsey, Harrison, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble and Tuscarawas. Licensed counselors, social workers and graduate students are invited to apply for positions in these counties and may be eligible for hiring and retention bonuses.

The Ohio Department of Education and the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center collaborate with East Central Ohio Educational Service Center, Ohio Valley Educational Service Center, Ohio University and community mental health providers to increase school-based mental health professionals in the project counties. The collaboration enables partners to offer hiring offsets, bonuses and internship stipends.
