Systematic literacy decoding intervention video available

The ability to decode words by breaking them down into individual sounds and blending them together is crucial for reading. However, some students may face challenges in this process. To support these students, it is important to have an effective decoding intervention that follows a phonics scope and sequence. The intervention should be explicit and systematic.

Ohio Literacy Lead Carolyn Turner presents Explicit Intervention in Decoding, part of Ohio’s Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plan (RIMP) Code Video Series. In this six-minute video, Carolyn reviews the essential elements of successful decoding intervention.
