Incentive supports school-based employment for military personnel

Opportunities available for military individuals in Ohio schools

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s School Transportation Incentive provides support for the recruitment of military individuals for school-based employment. This incentive is part of the Military Recruit Award, offering increased bonuses for eligible military individuals hired into transportation roles.

Eligible roles include:

  • Bus driver
  • Motor van driver
  • Bus aide
  • Transportation director/supervisor
  • Vehicle maintenance personnel
  • On-the-bus instructors
  • School bus mechanics
  • Dispatchers

Eligible military individuals hired into non-transportation roles will still qualify for the standard award amount.
