The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce recently launched Field Trip: Learning Across Ohio, a new video series that explores the education priorities shaping Ohio. Each installment highlights the success of educators and students making a difference in their communities. 

Whether spotlighting the dedication and ingenuity of educators and school leaders or sharing students who are working hard to gain knowledge and life skills for the future, each Field Trip episode highlights exciting developments taking place in Ohio schools.

Episode 1: A Tale of Three Districts

Travel across Ohio to see how three different districts are building strong connections between classroom learning and career opportunities. From hands-on experiences to industry partnerships, these schools are showcasing what it means to prepare students for life after graduation, and highlighting how career education is shaping the future of Ohio’s workforce.

Episode 2: Building a Story (Part 1)

Part one of a two-part feature, Building a Story, spotlights the literacy work underway in two exemplary districts, Elyria City School District and Ashland City Schools. Both are Governor’s Science of Reading Champions, leading the way in creating classrooms built on strong implementation strategies and evidence-based instruction aligned with the science of reading.

Episode 3: Building a Story (Part 2) 

Part two of a two-part feature, Building a Story, spotlights the literacy work underway in Ohio. This episode features Ashland City Schools and highlights how the district’s cross-content literacy instruction led to its recognition as the only middle school in Ohio to be awarded a Governor’s Science of Reading Champion designation in 2025.
