Career Pathway Support Networks

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Higher Education, is transitioning the work of Ohio’s Tech Prep Centers to Career Pathway Support Networks.

Statewide Investment to Expand Access to Career-Technical Education

Backed by a two-year, $7.1 million allocation, this initiative is designed to strengthen regional career-technical education infrastructure and ensure more Ohio students are prepared for in-demand careers.

Each Career Pathway Support Network will be guided by a regional steering committee and will focus on increasing access to and participation in middle grades (7-10) career-technical education and ensuring all students receive high-quality career advising and mentoring. 

Grant Awardees

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce will award funding to the following lead institutions:
  • East Region: Youngstown State University - $674,978.13
  • Northeast Region: ESC of Northeast Ohio - $1,561,346.96
  • Northwest Region: North Central Ohio ESC -$936,717.18
  • West Region: Sinclair Community College - $857,292.67
  • Southwest Region: Cincinnati State Technical and Community College - $1,052,456.85
  • Central Region: ESC of Central Ohio - $1,247,917.40
  • Southeast Region: East Central Ohio ESC - $778,863.40
The grant funds shall be used to directly support career services provided to students enrolled in all community schools, STEM schools, affiliated higher education institutions, and school districts, including joint vocational school districts within a defined JobsOhio Region. The Department is currently seeking applications to establish these Career Pathway Support Networks. Beginning October 1, 2025, Ohio's Tech Prep Regional Centers will transition to Career Pathway Support Networks. This transition will coincide with the addition of a seventh region to align to updates made by JobsOhio.
