House Bill 409 Guidance and Students on the 1 Year Non-Tested List - ORC 3314.26
Greetings e-School leaders and sponsors,
With recent changes to expectations for attendance and testing related to House Bills 409 and House Bill 67, the Department wishes to pass along two pieces of information:
- House Bill 409 update attendance requirements for e-schools that are not implementing a Dropout Prevention and Recovery program. The Department has prepared guidance to assist schools as they update their attendance policy to align to the new expectations.
- ORC 3314.26 – This requirement is applicable to students that did not complete all required assessments for a two year period. House Bill 197 waived this requirement for the 2019-2020 school year, however there are students that did not complete all of the required assessments in the 18-19 school year that this section could be applicable if the student does not complete all required assessments in the 20-21 school year. The list of students that did not complete all required assessment in the 18-19 school year is available in the Data Collector within EMIS as a Level 2 report titled (ESNT-002) 1 Year Not Tested list for eSchools.
If you have additional questions related to these two reminders, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office.
