Dropout Recovery Report Card Designations

Dropout Prevention and Recovery (DOPR) Community Schools are eligible for a specialized Report Card designed specifically for them. Community schools that previously received a waiver from closure, as well as any conversion community school with an approved Report Card data roll-up exclusion application, will receive a DOPR report card, and any school wishing to receive one must apply for approval.

Since DOPR schools serve a majority of their students through dropout prevention and recovery programs, they receive alternative report card ratings, using the categories Exceeds Standards, Meets Standards, Does Not Meet Standards, or Not Reported in place of traditional star ratings for report card measures.

Application for Dropout Prevention and Recovery (DOPR) Report Card Designation

State law allows a community school that serves a majority of its students through a dropout prevention and recovery program to receive a DOPR report card, rather than the standard report card, provided the school meets the criteria.  The link below contains instructions and the application for community schools that are eligible to apply to receive a DOPR report card.

Conversion Community School Data Roll-Up Exclusion

Under Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 3302.02(C)(6)(a), the traditional public school district sponsor of a community school that serves a majority of its students through a dropout prevention and recovery program may apply for an exception from having the community school’s academic performance data rolled up into its district's Local Report Card. The link below contains instructions and the application for district sponsors that are eligible to apply for the exception.

Community School Data Roll-Up Inclusion with the District of Residence

State law allows a public school district and any new start-up community school located in that district to include the new startup community school’s Local Report Card data with that of the district’s, regardless of whether the district sponsors the community school. The link below contains instructions and the application for community schools and districts that are eligible to apply to have the community school’s data combined with the district of residence.
