E-schools
An Ohio e-school is an online Ohio public school. The family makes the decision to move a student from a traditional or site-based community school to an online Ohio public school. A licensed Ohio teacher provides the appropriate grade-level instruction. When enrolled in online community school, the student receives a computer at home and online access to the school. Students graduating from an Ohio online school receive an Ohio high school diploma as all other public school students.
If interested in this education option, the first step is for a family to contact the online school about enrollment. There is no permission required from the home school district.
Those with the word (statewide) next to the school name are online schools, where students can reside anywhere in the state to enroll. Others on the list are district-sponsored online community schools. Many have limited enrollment to that sponsoring district’s students or students in surrounding districts.
