E-schools

Ohio e‑schools are public schools that operate entirely online. Families may choose to enroll a student in an e‑school instead of a traditional or site‑based community school. Students learn from licensed Ohio teachers who provide instruction aligned to state grade‑level standards.
 
When a student enrolls in an e‑school, the school provides the technology needed for learning at home, including a computer and online access to coursework. Students who complete all graduation requirements at an Ohio e‑school earn an Ohio high school diploma, just like students in any other public school.
 
If a family is interested in this option, the first step is to contact the e‑school directly to learn about its enrollment process. No permission is needed from the student’s home school district.
 
Some schools on the list are marked statewide, meaning students from anywhere in Ohio may enroll. Other e‑schools are sponsored by a specific district and may limit enrollment to students in that district or nearby areas.
