EMIS Newsflash – April 06, 2026

4/6/2026

EMISFFE End of Life
As has been mentioned at various conferences over the past year, the EMISFFE application is going to be retired once the Data Collector is ready to accept CSV formatted data for all record types. We are confirming that CSV formats for all record types are supported for this year’s remaining reporting; therefore, the last date EMISFFE will be available is April 15, 2026. Prior to that date, districts actively using EMISFFE may wish to save any data they have entered by utilizing the Export data option from the menu. This option will generate EMIS flat formatted output.

If there is data in EMISFFE that is no longer needed, districts are asked to delete such data if possible; however, this is not required.

SSDT staff will be exporting and archiving any data in the EMISFFE database after April 15. This archive data is only intended to be accessed in critical, unexpected situations—if you will likely need EMISFFE data in the future, please export it now instead of relying on this archive.

After April 15, districts without a SIS or other program/process that can generate an EMIS reporting flat file format will need to format EMIS data in a CSV format as outlined in the EMIS Manual; in particular, see Section 1.2: General Data Characteristics. The EMIS Data Collectors at your ITCs will accept and process CSV formatted files. Within each collection request, each record type can only include CSV or flat file formatted data. The 2 data formats cannot be mixed for the same record type in the same collection attempt.

If you have any questions or concerns about this transition, please submit them to the EMIS Helpdesk.
