EMIS Newsflash – July 26, 2024

7/26/2024

FY24 Financial (H) Collection, v2
Please refer to the Release Notes for details regarding this newly posted collection request.

Reading Diagnostics Reminder
This is a reminder that districts should be reviewing their Derive Reading Diagnostic Result (LTRC-001) Level 2 Report in EMIS for detailed information about reading diagnostics, including SSID-level data. Districts should reference the Reading Diagnostic and Dyslexia Screener Reporting FAQ for reporting assistance. If you have technical EMIS reporting questions after reviewing your Level 2 report and the FAQ, contact your ITC.

Note that districts using the i-Ready for their Reading Diagnostic and seeing unexpectedly high numbers of “Required-Not Assessed” students should be sure to review the FAQ to be sure they are reporting the correct Assessment Area Code.

Also, ensure you are reviewing your Improving At-Risk K-3 Readers reports in the Secure Data Center (SDC) before the Aug. 7 deadline. To access the SDC, log in to your OH|ID account and select the Report Portal tile. If you do not have the access needed to view the SDC, work with your district's OEDS administrator. The early literacy reports using reading diagnostic data that should be reviewed include the following: District Improving At-Risk K-3 Reader, School Improving At-Risk K-3 Reader, District Diagnostic Report, School Diagnostic Report. For more information and resources about using the SDC, please see the new Secure Data Center webpage.

The deadline to report this data is Weds, August 7, 2024. After the collection closes, there is a short appeal window. After the appeal window, no corrections can be made to this data.

OELPA Collection
We have been made aware of a technical issue with a student information system that was causing erroneous data to be submitted to EMIS in the OELPA Collection. The vendor has resolved the issue, but we encourage all districts to re-submit the OELPA Collection to ensure the correct data has been received by EMIS.

To assist with this review, a new Level 1 check and a new Level 1 report were added to the OELPA Assessment (A) Collection, which was made available on Monday, July 22. These will help districts with reporting accurate data and catching erroneous data submissions. These flag situations in which there is an accidental reporting of mixed ALT and STR test types at the student level for FY24 tests. See the FY24 OELPA Assessment (A) Collection, v3 Release Notes for more information.

All districts with OELPA data are highly encouraged to resubmit to ensure their data is accurate. We encourage districts to resubmit as soon as possible to ensure data accuracy. The deadline to submit OELPA data is Weds, August 7, 2024. After the collection closes, there is a short appeal window. After the appeal window, no corrections can be made to this data.
