Who?

  • This training is designed for new EMIS coordinators and other district staff who work with EMIS data and EMIS reporting. We define "new" as those with 3 or fewer years of experience with EMIS reporting. We strongly recommend that all EMIS coordinators who meet this definition plan to attend this training.
  • We also encourage you to invite other district staff who work with you with EMIS data and reporting to attend with you.

What?

  • The training consists of the following six sessions.
    • EMIS Basics (Tuesday, August 3; 1-3 p.m.)
This session is about the basics of EMIS, EMIS communications, and other EMIS resources. This session also includes information about where to go for help with EMIS questions. Though designed mainly for new EMIS coordinators, EMIS coordinators at all levels as well as other district staff/staff members/administrators may find this session useful and are welcome to attend.
    • Beginning of Year EMIS Reporting (Thursday, August 5; 9-11 a.m.)
This session is about beginning of year EMIS reporting and will provide information and tools to assist with EMIS data reporting requirements for FY22. It will include a review of each data set and point out key records/elements in each collection. Though designed mainly for new EMIS coordinators, EMIS coordinators at all levels as well as other district staff involved with submitting data may find this session useful and are welcome to attend.
    • Data Collector (Monday, August 16; 1-3 p.m.)
The Data Collector is the tool by which districts submit their EMIS data to the Department. This session will introduce you to the data collector, how you report your EMIS data to the Department, and where to find the EMIS reports created from your data to assist you with data review and correction. Though designed mainly for new EMIS coordinators, EMIS coordinators at all levels as well as other district staff involved with submitting data or reviewing reports may find this session useful and are welcome to attend.
    • Secure Data Center (SDC) (Friday, August 20; 1-2:30 p.m.)

    • Ohio District Data Exchange (ODDEX) (Tuesday, August 24; 9-11 a.m.)

This session will include the basics of navigation, the universe of information found in ODDEX, and how the ODDEX modules can help you with your EMIS data and reporting. Though designed mainly for new EMIS coordinators, EMIS coordinators at all levels as well as other district staff and administrators may find this session useful and are welcome to attend.
