Membership Types

What is the Difference between a General OEDPN Member and an RDL?

Network members include all individuals committed to the mission and vision of the network. Two types of membership exist within the network:

  1. General Network Members: General network members include individuals who are committed to building knowledge, sharing resources, and connecting with other data professionals to help support the vision of the network. General network members may have credentials and support their own organization, but they do not provide any regional supports.
  2. Regional Data Leads: Regional Data Leads (RDLs) are network members who work at the regional level. They provide professional development, technical assistance, and coaching support to educators to strengthen professional practice and improve learning for all students. There are three criteria to be considered an RDL.
    • Be Credentialed: By completing one or more targeted trainings and passing the assessments, RDLs demonstrate they hold the skills and knowledge to meet the data use needs of districts.See the RDL page for information about credentials.
    • Provide Regional Supports: Although any individual can be credentialed, RDLs are intentional in providing regional supports to buildings and districts in their credentialed area(s).
    • Employed by an ESC or SST: Regional Data Leads must be employed by an ESC or SST. Ohio’s goal is for every district and school to have affordable access to high-quality support for utilizing data to identify educational problems and and monitor credible solutions. RDLs support this goal by providing regional supports through their employment with an ESC and/or SST.
    • SST organizations will have at least two consultants with the following credentials: Data to Serve Exceptional Children, Early Warning System, Progress Toward Graduation, Understanding and Using Attendance Data for Improvement, and Gauging Student Readiness.
