Welcome to the Report Card Training Hub

This dedicated resource serves as a guide to effectively navigating Ohio School Report Cards and associated processes. These virtual trainings and pre-recorded videos are designed to provide focused, in-depth learning on single topics. Each virtual session is up to two hours in length and does not require prior registration. Whether you’re a superintendent, EMIS coordinator, administrator, or counselor; an ESC or SST consultant; or an ITC professional, these trainings are tailored to equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to understand and utilize Ohio School Report Card Data.

Secure Data Center (SDC) 

​​SDC: The Basics 
This session will introduce the Secure Data Center (SDC) and provide best practices for utilizing SDC reports. Though designed mainly for new users, users at all levels involved with submitting and reviewing EMIS data may find this session useful.

SDC: Deeper Dive 
This session will focus on integrating the SDC tool within the concept of data literacy to assist in identifying valuable data insights. It is designed for the user who knows the basics and wants to dig a bit deeper into the available reports.

Future Report Card Trainings

The professional learning opportunities will cover:
  • Building Effective Report Card Data Teams
  • An in-depth review of report card measures,
  • Guidance on how to utilize the various resources, such as technical documents, EMIS and Secure Data Center reports used to validate data reported in EMIS and report card calculations
When: August 2025 - July 2026
Format: Two-hour sessions hosted by the Office of Accountability with some program offices
Who should attend: District Data Teams (including Traditional Districts, Community Schools, CTPDs, DPRs staff, sponsors, etc.), ITC staff, ESC staff, and SST staff

 

Data Teams 
This training session aims to familiarize district staff with Insights into the Report Card: Data Literacy, Data Teams, and Resources to aide in building effective data teams

  • Friday, August 8, 2025 12:30-2:30p.m.  

Traditional and CTPD Graduation
This training session aims to familiarize district staff with a Deep Dive into the calculations utilized in the Graduation Ratings for the Traditional and Career Technical Planning District Report Cards​

  • Wednesday, September 3, 2025 12:30-2:30p.m.
  • Thursday, September 4, 2025 9:30-11:30a.m.

Traditional College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness and CTPD Career & Post-Secondary Readiness
This training session aims to familiarize district staff with a Deep Dive into the calculations utilized in Post-Secondary Readiness measures for the Traditional and Career Technical Planning District Report Cards

This training session aims to familiarize district staff with a Deep Dive into the calculations utilized in the Components for the Dropout Prevention and Recovery Report Cards:
  • High School Test Passage Rate

  • 4-Year through 8 Year Graduation Rates

Traditional and CTPD Achievement
This training session aims to familiarize district staff with a Deep Dive into the calculations utilized in the Achievement Ratings for both the Traditional and Career Technical Planning District Report Cards
