Measles (Rubeola) Outbreak impacting childcare programs

This message is to alert you that there has been an outbreak of Measles impacting several ODJFS licensed childcare programs located in the Columbus area.
 
Attached is guidance on Measles that can be shared with your families, if needed.
 
Suspected or confirmed case of Measles must be reported to your local health department immediately, as noted on the “Communicable Disease Chart”. This Ohio Department of Health Find my local Health Department tool can be used if you need help finding your local health department.
 
Any illness that requires reporting to your local health department must also be reported to the Ohio Department of Education (Office of Early Learning and School Readiness). Reports can be submitted in the Ohio Child Licensing and Quality System using this job aid.
