Heading to Kindergarten is creating a new cohort for the
2022-2023 school year and you are invited to join us!
During the 2021-2022 school year, seven public school / Head Start teams from around Ohio participated in Heading to Kindergarten Cohort 2.
  • SST 4:   Chardon Local Schools / Lake Geauga Head Start
  • SST 7:   Marion City Schools / Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission
  • SST 11: Columbus City Schools / Child Development Council of Franklin County
  • SST 13: Clermont Northeastern / Clermont Northeastern Early Childhood Academy / Child Focus
  • SST 14: Georgetown Exempted Village Schools / Adams Brown Community Action Partnership
  • SST 15: Portsmouth City School District / Community Action Organization of Scioto County
  • SST 15: Paint Valley Local School District / Ross County Community Action Committee
Heading to Kindergarten is focused on building partnerships that support successful transitions to kindergarten. The goal is to provide guidance and resources based on best practices to enhance collaboration between early care and education programs, public schools and community partners as a critical pathway to better child outcomes.

If your school district would like to participate, please complete an application and submit to by Friday, October 21st, 2022. Cohort 3 participants will be announced by October 31st, 2022.
Heading to Kindergarten supports Each Child Our Future and the Whole Child Framework by helping schools, families and communities work together to meet the needs of the whole child. In addition, participating in this project will help your district meet the requirements of Title I and Every Student Succeeds Act.
