HQIM Coherence Alignment

Using intervention materials that align to the core curriculum allows for greater levels of instructional coherence, including connection of skills to content taught in core. It is important to choose a program or curriculum that addresses each student’s individualized needs and skills determined for intervention and supports instructional coherence, rather than piecing together multiple programs and unrelated strategies and practices.

The following list organizes core materials by grade band. Each entry includes:

  • Core materials from the Department’s Approved List of Core Curriculum and High-Quality Instructional Materials in English Language Arts
    • Aligned core foundational skills materials and/or intervention programs, also approved by the Department

These resources are grouped to help educators identify materials that support instructional coherence in core instruction and intervention.
